A 5 star hotel. The building consists of 3 long wings and is of a Y shape. It comprises of 245 rooms conference facilities, ballroom, restaurant, bars, shops, two swimming pools, open air forums or gathering place and various sporting facilities.
To cater for seismic and thermal movements the superstructure of the building was subdivided into five independent units.
Movement joints between the five units are 50mm wide.
The hotel block is on conventional pad footings tied up by reinforced concrete ground beams.
In order to achieve the longer spans required by the public areas some of the columns which exist on the upper rooms floors have been omitted at public areas level resulting to the introduction of transfer structures.
